>> a look at the winds. they're howling in the hills gusting to 35 miles per hour. knoxville creek, 26 miles per hour wind. north, northeasterly wind. 26% at mount tam, wind advisories for the hills until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. gusts may reach as high as 55 miles per hour. watch out for trees and power lines toppling. there's potential for that. what's bringing the wind? low pressure to the east, high pressure building in and we're sandwiched between the two systems so that wind is flowing from the high to the low, and we are going to continue with the gusty winds. but this is going to set the stage for your weekend. i'll be back with a closer look, including mother's day coming up. dan and ama. >> thank you. new at 11:00, high winds are a painful reminder for north bay residents of the devastating wildfires last october. but this weekend a major event is pumping positive energy and

ak oakland fire department spokesperson says two people were taken to a trauma center. tonight we're hearing from a san francisco mayoral candidate under fire for a proposal to eliminate some of the city's sanctuary city protections. >> abc 7 rorter katie utehs spoke with angela to "the tonight show." >> reporter: protesters are upset mayoral candidate angela aliodo is trying to change the policy. it with premove sanctuary protections for violent felons. back in 1989 she authored the original sanctuary city orlando nances. subsequent supervisors hanged it. she says this initiative get it back to the original intent. >> the intent of the legislation was never to protect felons, convicted felons. >> reporter: critics accuse her of using trump talking points for political gain. >> it is not the climate to do it and i think it is very irresponsible from a civil rights attorney to even propose something like that.

>> no! oh, my god, no, i love him so much. i just want to love him so much. that's it. if he doesn't like it, then i'll go home and i'll love my ex-boyfriend. what am i supposed to do? >> that was sunu wasu reporting. adis is expected in court next week. tonight fremont police recovered a body found in the marshlands off the city's shore. the decomposing male body was clothed when it was discovered in a remote area south of where marshland roa ends. a hiker notified authorities about 4:00 this afternoon. alameda county coroner officers used a drone and specialized boat to find and recover the body. a nigerian woman filed a discrimination after being kicked off a fight bound for san francisco because someone complained of her odor. she said it happened on a flight change in houston in 2016 when she was traveling with her

saw the 60s, but away from the coastline we saw temperatures up into the 80s. we are still hanging on to the warmth from earlier in the day. up to 18 degrees warmer compared to 24 years ago in novato. 19 degrees warmer in livermore. the reason for this is the north, northeasterly wind, the downsloping wind holding some of the heat in. that wind has been howling in the hills as i mentioned earlier in the broadcast. it will remain gusty for the next couple of hours in the hills and the winds trend lower heading towards tomorrow, latter part of the morning. the winds will subside in time for your plans. i want to show you the temperatures. really almost everyone in the 60s and 70s. there's very few 40s and 50s there. these temperatures are really well above where they should be for this time of year. they look more like highs than actual current readings with the exception of places like half moon bay that has dropped down, 46 degrees. mount tam cam right now you notice it is a shaky view. so gusty winds in the hills
